Introductions & Overview

Introduction

Welcome to the ShootMyArt™ Academy! My name is Eric Law, and I’m looking forward to sharing with you my knowledge and insights about photographing artwork.

Instructions

Click on the video (above) to learn why having great images is so important as an artist and to get a quick overview of the workshop.

Each lesson has a downloadable Lesson Guide, which contains a transcript of the video and space to make notes if you print a copy. There is also a short worksheet at the end that will help you understand the lesson and put it into practice. Please remember the Lesson Guides are provided for your personal use and should not be reproduced and distributed without permission.

Each lesson also has a discussion in the forum where you can reply with questions or comments about the lesson, describe your experiences, or offer advice. As you read through the questions and comments posted about the lessons, we encourage you to assist your fellow students by answering their questions or providing advice—by doing so, you can help make this a true learning community. But please abide by our Community Guidelines (below).

Once you’re finished, use the button below to mark the lesson complete (click it again to mark the lesson as incomplete). Then use the other button to go to the next lesson.

Community Guidelines

We desire to promote a friendly, informative, and relevant online experience for the members of our learning community. Therefore, we encourage everyone to:

  • Stay on topic, use common courtesy, and be respectful of others
  • Remember that members have differing levels of knowledge or skills
  • Do not post someone else’s copyrighted work unless you have permission
  • Never post personal, identifying or confidential information

We moderate the lesson discussions, and we make every effort to respond to questions and comments in a timely manner; however, we can’t guarantee that we’ll reply to everyone. Because the discussions are public and anyone can participate, we cannot be responsible for views expressed other than our own.

All posts are reviewed to ensure they comply with the community guidelines, and we reserve the right to remove posts determined by us to be inappropriate. You can download a complete copy of the community guidelines here.
